Armory Chamber (The State Oruzheinaya
Palata of the Moscow Kremlin)
Formerly it was a warehouse for the Czar's
treasures. The State Armory Chamber is an architectural
monument of the mid XIX century, it is decorated
with 58 marble bas-relieves and portraits of Russian
scars and grand dukes. The collections of the State
Armory Chamber include pieces of arts and crafts
of Russia, Western Europe and countries of the East.
Pushkin Fine Arts Museum
This is one of the largest world art museums
in Russia and of the second significance after the
Hermitage in St. Petersburg. More than a half a
million works of the art are collected here.
The State Tretyakov Gallery
The State Tretyakov Gallery is a national art
museum. It is one of the most outstanding museums
in the World. The Gallery was founded by P.Tretyakov,
Moscow merchant and textile manufacturer, and it
was named after him. In 1892, Tretyakov gave his
collection ( about 1800 works) as a gift to Moscow
City and the Gallery turned into the city's museums.
In the Soviet period, the collection grew up to100.000
works. All the periods of Russian art from X up
to early XX century are presented in 62 exposition
halls of the Gallery.
"Kolomenskoe" State Art, History and
Architecture, Nature and Palace and Park Museum
Preserve
The pink of perfection of the Palace and Park
ensemble of Kolomenskoe is the unique snow white
Church of the Ascension, built in 1532. The collection
includes the following exhibits: archeology, ancient
Russia's painting, carving, books and Russian tiles.
Interesting samples of wooden buildings are also
collected here.
"Battle of Borodino" Panorama Museum
It was founded on the 29 th of August 1912
in honor of the the 100 th Anniversary of the 1812
Patriotic War. The main exposition is a model of
the battle at Borodino. There are collections of
numismatics, personal belongings of the War participants,
paintings and written sources dedicated to the 1812
Patriotc War in the Museum fund.
Sergiev Posad (60 km)
Sergiev Posad for many Russian people is that
it is the center of Russian Orthodox Church, the
spiritual center of Russia. Sergiev Posad is named
after St. Sergius af Radonezh, a patron saint of
all Russia who founded the Trinity Sergius Monastery,
a dazzling monument to six centuries of Russian
history. It is a cultural, historical and tourist
center of Moscow Region. The Impressive architectural
ensemble, its historic relies and artistic treasures
make Sergiev Posad a unique historic site.
Cathedral of Christ the Saviour Museum
The only exposition in Moscow located in a
gallery of the serving Cathedral. The materials
on the history of creation of the Cathedral form
the basis of the collection. Some works of modern
artists from Moscow and Moscow districts are also
exposed here.
Novodevichiy Convert Museum
It is one of the most significant architectural
monuments of Moscow after the Kremlin. The Complex
of the Museum consists of architectural ensemble
of the XVI - XVII centuries. The unique part of
collection includes paintings, the Necropolis, where
great people of Russian history of Russian history
and culture lay buried.
