What do we know about our past? And what is the
source of these knowledge? Myths. Legends. Written
documents. Rites.
The program "Siberian Rites" - is the
trial to look at the history and to know how the
forefathers of Central Asia nations was living,
their historical destiny, customs and manners of
living.
Every of one day's life of these nations is ritualised,
there are a lot of various tabu. Every action in
one day life shouldn't offend the fire, water or
some of the strongest spirit, the keeper of the
land not to loose your luck. Often you can see how
people doing their ordinary house work ( cleaning
the house, pouring the tea and stirring up the butter)
turned out to shamans making their rites with great
number of details. And the shaman's rite with all
these simple actions, at the first sight, are full
of conscience and concentration on what is happening.

TUVA
The culture of this nation
- is a culture of (wander) nomadic people,
moving on the great, poor populated territory,
the whole life of which is connected with
their herds of horses, sheep, camels. The
way of living of these people remains unchangeble
for many centuries.. The world of mountains,
forests and steppes that surrounded all over,
is very rough, hard and inspired at the same
time. The rivers and mountains are alive also,
because they have soul and conscience. The
Tuvan know everything of spirits - the masters
of the mountains, mountain-passes, rocks and
rivers. The universe one can imagine as organism
of much layers populated with a lot of beings
and spirits.

Day 2
|
The day begins with the visiting
of the village Nigniy Suetuk. The group meet
according to old russian tradition- with bread
and salt.
After the group leaves hospitable
village, their itinerary goes through the
East Sayan Mountains, which are believed to
be the Earth end. Weather the end or not,
but the view is outstanding and really breathtaking.
Lunch is provided in the
mountains with a view to the majestic Yergaki
Ridge. After lunch the group will move on
to Tuva. And the end of this route the tourists
will meet with the host of the region - the
Sleeping Sayan.
Close to the evening the
group reaches Tuva. It is amazing, but as
soon as the coach crosses the border of the
republic, the landscape suddenly changes.
It seems that you have gone to another planet
and another time. In most of the territory
of Tuva there is no sign of civilisation.
Visiting the burial mound
"Arjaan II"*, the acquaintance with the funeral
rite of the ancient people. Then the group
goes to the border between Tuva and Krasnoyarsk
region, makes a stop at the sight area with
a wonderful view of Tuva.
Closer to the evening the
group will arrive in Tuva. The group makes
a stop 22 km from the city Kizil, on the riverbank
of Biy-Khem (in Tuvan - Big Yenisey), in the
yurts' complex*.

- Nyzhny Suetuk was established by the Russian
Cossacks-settlers in 1740 the village has
kept all the patterns of the past. The guests
are kindly meet with cackes and glaces and
driving on the real cart along the village.
You'll visit native people, their houses,
get aquatinted with their daily life, taste
home-made herbal-tea, jam, rolls. The Siberian
tradition includes the home-made strong
drinks with lard and pickled cucumbers.
- The mound "Arjan -2" * became one of the
biggest
archealogical sensation
of the last ten years. It is one of the
ancient Skythian mounds which is spread
from Sayan to Dunaj, dated of the 6 century
before our era. The pecularity of this "king's"
burial monument is in the fact, that it
didn't touch by thieves, and it gives the
scientists the possibility to learn the
structure of the building, the way of funeral
rite and to look at real cloths, adornment
and weapon.
- "Khoomei" is a fantastic capability of
tuvan and some other Siberian peoples to
emit simultaneously two or three sounds
of different tone and to sustain the same
sound during 25-30 seconds without taking
a breath. Having close your eyes, it's hard
to believe that the sounds are emitted by
a person, not a musical instrument.

form famous Great Enisey (Ulug-Chem) floating
from south to north.
- In the Shaman Clinic the real shamans,
old and young, will tell the guests their
traditions, rites and their capabilities.
Everybody who wishes to have a look to the
future, to pass the purification ritual

make an appointment with any of the shamans.
- This ritual is a talk to the spirits,
a real magical ritual at the fireplace,
followed by the prolonged sounds of a man
and his tambourine. You will witness a most
rare occasion when several shamans take
part in one ritual all together. In this
purification ritual you can plunge into
meditation or you can think a wish and it
will happen.
- Ovaa*- pyramids with pole and colourful
ribbonsÅ.
How the rite is held the
tourist knows from guide's story.
The rite of cutting hair*
- is a special one. The Tuvan consider,
that when the man appears this world, then
his soul comes back from cosmos to him,
just new body. That is why a small child
is not still a human being , because he
doesn't still rend his connection with cosmos.
He is connected with cosmos by his hair
till his three: three summers, three springs.
